Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty
ESG, Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty, is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure that allows your gastroenterologist to reduce the size of your stomach to promote weight loss. This outpatient procedure is performed under sedation, and patients return to a normal routine after a few days of at-home recovery.
ORBERA Intragastric Balloon
The ORBERA® Managed Weight Loss System is a non-surgical procedure that helps patients initiate and maintain long-term weight loss. The procedure places a small silicone balloon into the stomach, which takes up space so you feel full faster and consume smaller portions of food.
Endoscopic Sleeve Revision
The laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy has quickly become the most commonly performed weight loss surgery. As with other surgical interventions, many patients find that they suffer from weight regain. The Endoscopic Sleeve revision is an excellent option for patients who have already had a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy to regain the restriction of their stomach size without having to undergo another major operation using Dr. Merritt's minimally invasive technique.
Gastric Bypass Revision
Gastric bypass is a common weight loss surgery that involves creating a tiny stomach pouch which is connected directly to the small intestine. Over time, the pouch and its connection point to the intestine (called the “outlet”) can enlarge. The result is the ability to eat larger portions, leading to weight regain. Unfortunately many patients who have undergone this surgery will eventually regain some or all of the weight they lost. Up to 1 in 5 patients will regain all of the weight. Endoscopic gastric bypass revision, also known as Transoral Outlet Reduction (TORe), is an outpatient, incisionless procedure that tightens the pouch and outlet to their original size. The result is a restored sense of fullness, and the ability to lose weight that has been regained. Because the procedure is non-surgical, the recovery is brief and most patients are able to return to work in 2-3 days.
